Neighbourhood profile
Welcome to Montreal’s Little Italy! Colourful and welcoming, it runs along St. Laurent Boulevard, just a few steps from Montreal’s most ethnic public market: Jean-Talon Market.
The neighbourhood was settled by Italian immigrants at the end of the 19th century. Today, it is more diversified but is still considered home by the Italian community. An old-world atmosphere can be felt in its shops, cafés, and trattorias. In 2006, it was “party central” when Italy won the FIFA World Soccer Cup.
